  1. Good looks and comfort! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 28th Sep 2017

I ordered the dual spring seat, and was pleased and surprised how quickly it arrived. It had all the necessary hardware, and installing it was straight forward. All the holes lined up, and no drilling of new holes was needed.

The seat is of good quality, and very comfortable, and of good quality. I may have to adjust it a bit after I've had a chance to put some hours on it, but that shouldn't be a major undertaking.

  2. Dual Spring seat - a joy 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Jul 2017

Recently purchased the dual spring seat for my 2011 GU. Over the years I'd added padding to the original tractor seat, but still made long rides not as present as they could be. With the dual spring I immediately noticed an improved feel. I haven't really tested it yet on a long ride, but so far two thumbs up.

I also liked the fact that it is a direct replacement. The one negative is that the bolts that come with the seat are Allen Head bolts which are a pain to screw on in tight quarters, so I'd recommend replacing them all with Hex Head bolts.

Lastly, the base of the seat is much wider than stock and needs to slip under the right side frame cover. On mine, the curvature of spring was in the way. Simple fix - loosen the two nuts holding the spring in place and turn the spring to gain the need clearance.

    Highly recommended.

  3. Excellent seat 5 Star Review

This is an excellent seat. I had one on my 2013 Gear-Up and rode it for at least 5000km. It is much, much easier on the backside than the stock seat. I highly recommend it and have purchased the same seat for my new 2016 Gear-Up.

  4. Much better than the factory step seat 4 Star Review

Posted by on 1st May 2016

I purchased this seat to sit higher so my knees aren't bent so much. I ended up raising the seat 1" with a piece of UHMW and redrilled the holes in the mounting plate to move the seat aft about 2". It's much better. The only complaint is the seat is too soft. I'll probably get it redone at Rich's in Kingston, WA.

  5. Ditch the Tractor Seat 4 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Nov 2015

The new seat is great. I was able to use the provided mounting hardware. My only two complaints are: I had to drill out the rear two mounting holes on the base because the did not line up with the existing hole (there were off by a couple of mm's) and when the seat is mounted toward the rear position, it interferes with the fender cargo rack on my 2015 gear up. The Seat needs to be about 1/2 inch forward to clear the rack.

  6. A bit of a struggle to get on, but my arse cheeks are thanking me 4 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Mar 2015

I am happy with the seat, but am only awarding a four out of five.

The butt cheek comfort factor went up an order of magnitude over the old tractor seat. Also, my riding posture is improved by the way the back of the seat sits ever so slightly up. It's also a big cosmetic improvement on the look of the bike.

I had had to drill one hole in the base plate to accomodate the voltage regulator. I had to replace the Ural hex-head mounting bolts with some of my own (about 1/4 inch longer) to accomodate the slightly thicker base plate. It took longer than I anticipated to get the whole thing on, but the struggle was worth it.

I would rate a five stars if the plate had the hole already drilled for the voltage regulator, and the package came with replacement bolts a quarter inch longer. Over all, I'm glad I bought it.

  7. Highly Recommend! 5 Star Review

The original seat for my 2013 Gear Up was fine for 100 mile rides or less, but after that the seat became uncomfortable. I have over 2,000 miles with this seat and it is perfectly comfortable no matter how far I ride in a day. I'm able to shift weight for corners with this seat much better than the original seat.

  8. Awesome Upgrade for 2014 Ural T 5 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Oct 2014

I have ridden a couple hundred miles on the new saddle, awesome upgrade. The original saddle wasn't that uncomfortable at the short distances I normally ride (bought the bike so my 5 yr old could ride) so I considered a padded cover at $100. I liked the bobber look of this seat, the reviews and the price. I have not been disappointed. On the 2014, I had to add a hole to mount the master cylinder and buy longer hardware. Other than that mounting was easy. I would definitely recommend this saddle.

  9. Great seat, great look, easy install 4 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Sep 2013

Ok, the only seat to get 5 stars is a Russell Daylong (which I have on my R1150GS), so 4 stars are pretty darn good. I’m 6’3” 220 lbs, so I put ½” spacer between the mounting plate and the seat plate (this eliminated moving the stuff mounted under the seat plate) so the install was a 10 minute job. The holes lined up perfectly. Two days later I took the 2012 Patrol on a 5 hour out, 6 hour back trip. I have to say, the seat was very comfortable (10X better than the bench and an Airhawk), I can shift weight when needed, hang off in corners just fine. I think this is a much better choice than upgrading a tractor seat (I have a set of those, too).

  10. save the original seat pan 3 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Nov 2012

save the original seat pan so you can redrill the holes on the new seat pan in order to be able to align it with the frame. You also gonna need to drill an additional hole to secure the voltage regulator. But in the end after a couple of hours struggling to put it on it was worth it. The seat is extremely confortable.

  11. All Day Comfort 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Feb 2012

Had this seat added prior to taking delivery of my Patrol, for a more classic look. This seat is super comfortable and allows me to ride all day without a complaint. The look is also what I was after.
