Ural's are easy to ride and easy to maintain when you know what you're doing. If you're like me and know nothing about how to take care of your Ural, this might be a good place to start. Servicing your Ural might be expensive, but when your safety and the safety of your passengers are involved, it's well worth the cost. If it makes you feel better you can always think of each service as your bike restoring it's health and possibly a level up before the next lengthy journey in it's life.
First, you need to know when your service is going to take place. An easy way to remember is by watching your odometer climb. Each time it reaches one of the milestones below it's time to bring it into the shop for service.
310 MI/500 KM Service
During this service we will perform a road test and complete a visual inspection of the vehicle, including engine and all related systems, front and rear suspension, steering and brake system, transmission and drive train, various electrical components, check and adjust tension of wheel spokes, check and adjust fasteners for proper tightening, check steering column bearings, check and adjust alternator bolts, check brake fluid reservoir.

It might seem like a lot that's being done and that's because it is. We are thorough in each and every service because we want to see you and your bike in tip-top shape. After we complete this service you're free to go on your jolly way. Between this service and your next service we hope you have gone on many Ural adventures, possibly even getting your bike stuck in the mud or snow. Make sure you get pictures and send them to us, we love to see where you've gone. After you have accomplished several adventures it's time to come back to the shop to go through the second phase.
Welcome to your second service. During this service it should feel like you're not so much of an amateur at servicing your Ural. We will perform road test and complete visual inspection of the vehicle, including engine and all related systems. We will take a look at the front and rear suspension, steering and brake system, transmission and drivetrain, and other various electrical components. We will also check and adjust tension of wheel spokes, check and adjust fasteners for proper tightening, check steering column bearings, check and adjust alternator bolts, check brake fluid reservoir.
In addition to all that looking we will actually work on your bike by:
- Change engine oil and filter
- Change transmission oil
- Change final drive oil
- Inspect throttle body synchronization, update software if needed

You've gone a long way on your motorcycle now. You should feel proud for making it this far. During this service we will perform a road test and complete a visual inspection of the vehicle, including engine and all related systems, front, rear and sidecar suspension, steering and brake system, transmission and drivetrain. We will inspect various electrical components, check and adjust tension of wheel spokes, check and adjust fasteners for proper tightening, check and adjust steering column bearings, check and adjust alternator bolts, perform valve clearance adjustment, perform carburetor adjustments and synchronization, access and replace engine air filter (if needed). Lubricate shafts, linkages, cables and splines. Check and adjust wheel bearings.

Congratulations you have completed level 4 Ural service. Now go out and have some fun. This could be some of the last days you get with her before you want to trade her in for a new model. I know this won't be your last service, but it will be the last one we touch on. I sincerely hope you've traveled more than just to and from work at this point in your mileage count. Now it's time to bring it back to us where we will perform the 5th level of service. You should know us well by now, you will have been completely accepted into the Ural family.
