Its time to strap on your helmet and get ready for this year's New England Ride for Kids charity event! Ride for Kids is a foundation that raises money for children with brain tumors. Brain tumors in children are the leading cause of cancer death in children. Ride for Kids is the leading nonprofit motorcycle group that has funded brain tumor research. Hop on your motorcycle and get ready to ride with a purpose this August.
Last year was my first year doing a Ride for Kids event and it was a lot of fun. I got to meet a lot of great kids who were either still in treatment for their tumor or were in remission. Ride for Kids is a family event with lots of vendors teaming up to put smiles on these kids' faces. Hundreds of motorcycles showed up to give not only the kids, but the siblings as well, rides to show that they are not alone in their darkest of moments. I was most surprised at how many motorcycles were there not just Urals, but all sorts of motorbikes. Some people rode solo and some were able to take a passenger with them. It was a great time to support these kids who need to know that we are rooting for them.
This year we want to see even more people come with our team to put smiles on these kids' faces. There are many ways to get involved even if you don't have a motorcycle. Check out some of the links below to get started. Hope to see you there!
